Pumpkin Pasta (with Halloween Farfalle Pasta)

With fall upon us, out come the sweaters, colorful leaves, and MASSIVE amounts of Autumn inspired food appearing in the blogosphere! Not wanting to leave our blog out of all the action, I present to you Halloween Pumpkin  Pasta! As I was actually shopping for some new fall clothes (think thick plaid button-up shirts, and comfy sweaters) when I came across this awesome looking pasta. With our other ventures into striped pasta garnering an impressive number of hits, I knew this had to be blogged! Of course, I wanted to make something in the spirit of the season, so instead of a typical pasta sauce, I gave a pumpkin based sauce a go!

Homemade Dog Fortune Cookies

How To Roll Up The Rim To Win – Tim Hortons

It’s that time of the year again!! RRRRRROOOLL UP THE RIM TO WIN is back at Tim’s! While I don’t particular enjoy Tim Hortons coffee, I find myself gravitating towards it lately, solely for the fact that I can get my coffee fix AND some excitement anticipating the message under the rim! So for all those Timmies addicts, who find themselves hurriedly chewing on the rim of their cup, trying to get to the winning message, this post if for you! CHEW NO MORE! Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cupcakes

One of my good, long-term friends recently celebrated his 26th birthday so I decided that I should make him some special cupcakes. While he originally requested Mancakes, I had just made them so I wanted to make something a bit different. So with a recent suggestion from another friend, we decided that Cinnamon Toast Crunch cupcakes would be equally as awesome! Special Delivery From Crave Cupcakes Saskatoon for Valentine’s Day

So I have to admit – this was probably one of the best surprises I’ve received in a long time – if not the best surprise I’ve ever recieved! What is the surprise you ask? While at work this week, I got called to the front desk and waiting for me was a gift from Crave Cupcakes. Now, this wasn’t just a cupcake or two… no it was a whole loot from Crave with all their Valentine’s Day goodies. I was so pumped to get these home and sample them! Mancakes | Saskatoon C95 Bachelor Bacon Chocolate Cupcakes

So I guess the cat is out of the bag… I’ve been selected to participate on C95′s (a local radio station) version of The Bachelor as one of their lucky five bachelorettes. I was trying to think of something creative and delicious and yet a bit different to bring for my first in-station interview. So I decided what is a better way to a guy’s heart but food – specifically bacon and chocolate. Thus my invention of the Mancake. I figure the word ‘cupcake’ is a bit too girly and doesn’t perfectly describe a cupcake that combines chocolate and candied bacon – thus the word Mancake was born. Continue reading →

Titleist Birthday Cake

Pesto-Basil Chocolate Cake with a Parmesan Sour Cream Icing

At work we have an Iron Chef Challenge once a month where a group of people cook off and have their dishes judged by a panel of fellow employees. This month’s secret ingredient is…. PESTO! Right away I knew I didn’t want to do something traditional with pesto, so I ventured off to what I know best: Dessert. I made a Basil Chocolate Cake with a Parmesan Sour Cream Cheese Icing and topped it off with some pine nuts and grated parmesan cheese.
