Hooooly maaaan. I’m not sure how much gluttonous punishment my body can take at this point. All I’ve gotta say is thank God for 25 year old male metabolism! As a Canadian, I feel, as a commitment to my country, a poutine grilled cheese had to join the ranks of National Grilled Cheese Month. Grilled bread, gravy, cheese curds, fries… I sent farewells and love to my family as I embarked upon this grilled cheese, unsure if I would make it through, certain an untimely demise was imminent. But alas, I am here, writing about it, with a renewed lust for life! This was one mean grilled cheese! Crunchy bread, with layers of rich gravy, salty, suuuper stringy melted cheese curds, surrounding crispy french fries! I suppose I can find solace in the fact that I used “healthier” fries, making this Baked French Fries to use in the grilled cheese!

When Bob & I got the news we were pretty excited and started racking our brains for what we could make under their requested theme of “Grey Cup Party”. Voila! Game day appropriate cupcakes! Now let’s get to the recipe…
I’ve been feeling guilty lately.
Guilty because it has been A LOOONG time since i’ve gone to the gym (which I used to do regularly), and guilty because my blogging output has been pitiful the last couple months.
With big intentions to go to the gym today, I got home from work to find this delicious looking focaccia bread on my counter. This is where my resolutions fail me.
Food blogger guilt takes over.
Ever since visiting Montreal a few years ago, I’ve always been tempted to try my hand at making bagels from scratch. However, I always thought they were too hard – you know one of the mystery type of breads. After a colleague made them at work, I decided I need to suck it up, get over my fear and just try making homemade bagels. Well, I was pleasantly surprised with how easy & delicious these little suckers are. In true BS fashion, let’s get right to the good stuff. Continue reading
There are MANY great things to say about Nanaimo Bars: One – they are a delicious, authentic Canadian treat, Two – a beautiful town in BC where I have relatives and Three – my FAVOURITE type of square. Then combine this with a cupcake. Helllllooo hybrid of awesomeness! I’m drooling already, so let’s just get to the recipe.
