Perogy Grilled Cheese

Нічого собі, що все дуже смачно! Whoops… sorry, this grilled cheese was so delicious in a traditional fashion that I started to speak ukrainian! It’s filled with all the delightful ingredients perogies are made from – potatoes, cheddar cheese, green onions and sour cream and then made even better by being assembled in a grilled cheese. I don’t want to brag too much but this GC was seriously awesome! I think Bob should watch his back…..there is a new Grilled Cheese Artist in town! Let’s get to this Ukrainian inspired recipe..

Collard Green Scrambled Egg Wrap

Being new to collard greens, I am quite the fan, the large, hearty leaves make a great vegetable side dish, or a great vehicle for other ingredients! Although I kind of failed at this being a healthy recipe (see: bacon & cheese), using a collard green as a wrap instead of your typical tortilla style wrap, is a great low carb alternative! Of course if you want deprive yourself, you can take out the bacon and cheese, making it uber healthy! I say spoil yourself though, put the good stuff in!

How to Grow Your Own Lentil Sprouts

Well my lentil kick continues and this time it’s a little bit different. This time it comes in the form of lentil sprouts. These sprouts have a nice flavour to them – similar to fresh garden peas and have a good crunch to them. They are great to use in sandwiches, eggs, soups or dressing meat dishes. Blue Cheese & Pear Salad with Homemade Blueberry Vinaigrette

I tasted this salad the other night while out for dinner at McNally Robinson’s restaraunt “Prairie Ink” (a great local place with great ambiance and occasionally vibrant live music) and decided that I had to try making it at home. After a quick trip to Sobey’s, I was armed with my ingredients and ready to recreate this delicious, fresh and light salad.
