As evidenced by some of my recent posts, like herb-rubbed Beer Can Chicken, and Fried Egg on Sourdough, my cooking has been all about keeping it fresh! With an abundance of herbs and vegetables in my backyard, it’s been a great influence on my cooking. In the spirit of keeping things fresh, I wanted to try a recipe that I’ve always heard about, but never made before – Chimichurri! It’s a blend of fresh herbs, red wine vinegar, and olive oil, and it’s absolutely delicious! After doing a bit of research as to what actually goes into a traditional Chimichurri, I came up with the recipe below. Continue reading

Made a lobster roll? Still got leftovers? Don’t like lobster rolls? Love pasta? Well then this dish is for you! Another easy recipe utilizing leftover (or fresh) lobster. Given that i’m not a huge fan of really rich pasta sauce, I have made a butter free sauce, allowing the lobster and parmesan cheese to provide plenty of rich, hearty flavour!

I had this for breakfast…don’t judge me.
Come on, it’s not that bad, plenty of dairy, fruit, some carbs, a little sugar to get that blood pressure up, add in a cup off coffee and you’re ready for an epic day.

As part of my recipe testing for the Meat & Bread Porchetta that i’m planning on making in the near future, I needed to try out an Italian Salsa Verde. Instead of following the salsa verde on I am a Food Blog, I decided to go with a more traditional version and slightly modified a recipe from Bon Appetit.

Now I know some of you guys(/girls) will disagree with me here, but often times I feel the need to expand my cooking/blogging repertoire by focusing on more non-sandwich dishes. Of course the pull of the almighty sandwich is a strong one, and soon enough, I find myself relapsing with yet another grilled cheese recipe on my hands. Fortunately, my Grilled Cheese support group (a.k.a our faithful readers!), make me realize there is no shame in creating one more grilled cheese!

With fall upon us, out come the sweaters, colorful leaves, and MASSIVE amounts of Autumn inspired food appearing in the blogosphere! Not wanting to leave our blog out of all the action, I present to you Halloween Pumpkin Pasta! As I was actually shopping for some new fall clothes (think thick plaid button-up shirts, and comfy sweaters) when I came across this awesome looking pasta. With our other ventures into striped pasta garnering an impressive number of hits, I knew this had to be blogged! Of course, I wanted to make something in the spirit of the season, so instead of a typical pasta sauce, I gave a pumpkin based sauce a go!
