For whatever reason, this week just felt like a pizza week, but truth-be-told, every week could be pizza week because that stuff is freakin’ amazing! Especially with this ridiculously easy pizza dough recipe. It literally takes about 5 minutes to make (maybe less).

For this pizza I decided to keep it simple and go with a classic margherita style pizza with tomato sauce, fresh tomatoes, basil and mozzarella, topped off with a sprinkle of salt! So simple, so good!

Grilled Lemon & Honey Garlic Chicken

Grilled Lemon & Honey Garlic Chicken | bsinthekitchen.com #barbecue #chicken #bsinthekitchen

June has been a pretty great month in the Life of Bob! I finally got to share two recipe videos I produced for General Mills’ website Tablespoon.com, with one more being published in a couple days, and two more currently in the works! It’s been great so far, and i’m looking forward to doing more projects with them! I’ve also been finishing a couple recipe videos of my own that I shot several months ago (buttermilk biscuits, and ricotta gnocchi)! Carlene & I also had another wonderful CTV segment, which was a lot of fun, shooting live on location at our parents acreage! Video galore!

Along with all of that, I went on an amazing trip with my girlfriend’s family to Toronto and New York, both of which I had never visited before! It was a quick 9 day trip (with travel for three of those days), but we saw a lot, ate even more, and I snapped a ton of photos (check out my Instagram to see some of them)!

The Classic Grilled Cheese

The Classic Grilled Cheese | bsinthekitchen.com #grilledcheese #sandwich #bsinthekitchen

What better way to end this month of amazing grilled cheese sandwiches, than by taking a moment to remember what brought us here: the amazing combination of cheese, butter, bread, and a hot pan. So simple, so glorious! It’s only fitting that we bid adieu to National Grilled Cheese Month with that wonderful sandwich that started it all: The Classic Grilled Cheese.

Prosciutto & Gouda Grilled Cheese

Prosciutto & Gouda Grilled Cheese | bsinthekitchen.com #grilledcheese #sandwich #bsinthekitchen

Reminiscing on blog posts of the past, I recalled the Prosciutto & Smoked Gouda Egg Sandwich I posted a couple years ago (WOW it’s really been THAT long?), and knew I had to fit those flavours into our 30 days of grilled cheese! Given that this sandwich was just going to consist of Gouda and prosciutto (no egg this time), I decided against using smoked Gouda, because as delicious as smoked Gouda is, my stomach cringed at eating 1/2 a cup of it along with the already smokey/salty prosciutto.

“The Slim” Grilled Cheese

"The Slim" Grilled Cheese | bsinthekitchen.com #grilledcheese #sandwich #bsinthekitchen

Sometimes i’m just not in the mood for an epic grilled cheese masterpiece, sometimes I need subtlety, sometimes I need simple, sometimes I need “The Slim”. A tiny, crunchy, cheesy, delicious treat that’s not going to reduce my lifespan.

The goal of this sandwich is not to be slim as in healthy, it’s more about the slimness of the bread. When sliced this way and buttered up, you get this amazing super crunchy exterior, surrounding the melted cheese. Imagine eating a potato chip stuffed with melted cheese (wow that would be awesome), this is my ode to that vision.

Sole Meuniere | JC 100 – Week 7

This week the folks representing Julia Child finally decided to bring out the infallible Sole Meuniere, the recipe that changed it all for Julia! Now I can’t attest to having an “AHA” moment like Julia Child upon first bite, but I must say this was some pretty tasty fish! I will be honest, I was ready to be underwhelmed just based off the fact that this recipe has so much hype surrounding it, but I was pleasantly surprised to find myself enjoying what became a very simple and delicious meal! The Sole had a wonderful browned, crisp and buttery exterior, with a soft, flaky interior, which, topped with some lemon juice, was excellent.

Lemon Dill Chicken Thighs

I’m working out of town this month and am fortunately not stuck in a dumpy motel, instead i’m in a townhouse at Waskesiu’s Elkridge Resort, so I have a full kitchen, pots, pans and all that good stuff! But being that i’m out of town and don’t have a fully stocked kitchen I am forced to keep my ingredients pretty simple (since the nearest grocery store is an hour away). With a few things I picked before taking off to work, i’ve been able to muster up some pretty tasty dishes. Here’s one of them!

Asian Pork Tenderloin

Today I have a delicious Asian inspired recipe for Pork Tenderloin slightly modified from this recipe on The Other Side of Fifty. It’s a simple recipe that can be made with ingredients you probably already have in your fridge, which is always a plus for me! So let’s get to the recipe!

Salmon & Lemon Chive Fettucine

I have to send out an apology to all our faithful viewers out there for the lack of posting lately, Carlene and I have both been quite busy in the other aspects of our lives and unfortunately BS’ In The Kitchen has taken a hit! On a positive note, we are still cooking up tasty meals and taking pictures, we just haven’t gotten around to posting. So you can expect a surge of new posts once we finally find the time to do them all!

In the spirit of being busy here is a simple pasta recipe which can be whipped up in no time and serves 1-2 people.
