To continue on our holiday donut theme for CTV Morning Live Saskatoon, here is the Mistletoe donut to go along side The Relative and Santa’s Milk & Cookies. Now you are probably wondering… ‘what the heck… why is it a mistletoe donut?’….well with this little donut packing some Kahlua and Skor Toffee bits, it’s rather easy to read between the lines and maybe if you have a little bit of Kahlua and you’re under the mistletoe, you’ll “skor” (…a kiss…). Now let’s get to this feisty little donut.
I made this delicious and crunchy Almond-Hazelnut Buttercrunch Toffee as part of my Christmas baking. As a per warning, do NOT store this brittle in a cold place like a garage where Dad’s are known to hang out, as you’ll go to decoratively wrap it and notice that a large piece of the brittle is missing…. yet “no one” has been snacking on it….
Today we have a special guest, the woman who made all of this possible…OUR MOTHER! Every year she makes this highly addictive, yet extremely simple Christmas treat known as “Crispix Mix”. Now the name doesn’t fairly represent how amazing this stuff is, but take a look at the pictures, try it yourself and believe me it is AMAZING!
