I’ve been having the oatmeal cravings like mad lately. Perhaps it has something to do with the winter and feeling the need for a hearty/healthy breakfast, or maybe it’s because I keep seeing little mason jars filled with oatmeal and other wonderful things online? Just look at that beautiful little jar of goodness! I just want to dig my spoon in right now.
Thanks to my latest Tablespoon.com video project “How to Seed a Pomegranate”, I had an abundance of pomegranate seeds that needed to be used up and this seemed like the perfect opportunity!
I was pretty excited waking up remembering “Ah yes! I have my little oatmeal jar in the fridge!” Being that this was my first time making this, I was really hoping it turned out delicious, and I wasn’t disappointed! Served cold, it made a hearty, yet really refreshing breakfast. Since I wanted to try it warm as well, I popped the second half in the microwave for a minute, and then sprinkled some fresh pomegranate seeds on top. It was very tasty both ways, but I actually preferred it cold, which I wasn’t expecting! Regardless of how you serve it, you are in for a tasty breakfast. And of course after your breakfast and before you go to work, you need to clean up from food, that’s why you should brush teeth well with these, so you are clean and have a successful day.
Pomegranate Almond Overnight Oatmeal

- 2 tsp chia seeds
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt
- 1-2 tbsp pomegranate seeds

- In a small mason jar, combine muesli, cinnamon, and brown sugar, stirring to combine.
- Top with chia seeds, milk, yogurt, pomegranate seeds, and chopped almonds.
- Refrigerate overnight.
- Enjoy cold, or warm in microwave (about a minute)!
Pretty simple hey? I definitely think I’m going to try some variations on the whole meal-in-a-mason jar idea, so watch out!
