This is one of those “non-recipe” recipes, where I just toss a bunch of ingredients on something until i’m satisfied! Those are the best kind of recipes anyways, right?
Now you may have noticed this isn’t actually a pizza, more a faux-pizza, using delicious toppings you might find on a pizza but rather than pizza dough, I use a portobello mushroom! Low-carb and delicious, not that I particularly care about low-carb, but I DO care about delicious!
Italian Portobello "Pizza"
Swap in portobello mushrooms for pizza dough and make yourself delicious personal pan "pizzas"!
- 1 portobello mushroom
- garlic powder
- salt & pepper
- pizza sauce
- ricotta cheese
- red onion
- italian deli meat
- parmesan cheese
- Preheat your oven to 425 F.
- Sprinkle your portobello mushroom with garlic power, salt, pepper and parmesan cheese to taste.
- Spread one or two tablespoons of pizza sauce, top with your desired amount of ricotta cheese, some thinly sliced red onion, shredded italian deli meat (I used capocollo, and calabrese salami), spoon a little more pizza sauce on top and sprinkle with parmesan cheese!
- Bake for 15-20 minutes and serve!
That’s it! You’re on your way to enjoying some pizza mushroom goodness!
