Santa’s Milk & Cookies | Baked Cookies & Cream Donut

December 18, 2012 by bsinthekitchen

Last but not least is the Santa’s Milk & Cookies donut, which takes a spin on the classic flavour of cookies and cream. This third donut is the last of the donut saga for our holiday theme appearance for CTV Morning Live Saskatoon. It joins The Relative and The Mistletoe donut. Let’s get to this recipe, so you can get to baking  it before Santa arrives!

Watch us prepare this holiday treat on CTV Morning Live – Saskatoon here:

Santa’s Milk & Cookies | Baked Cookies & Cream Donut

  • 2 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs, room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp melted butter, cooled slightly

Pre-heat your oven to 325°F. Start by mixing together all of your wet ingredients, add in your dry and mix until they are all well combined. Pour the donut dough into a ziploc bag, cut off the corner and pipe into a greased donut pan.

Bake for 9-10 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.  Let cool for two minutes, then transfer the donuts to a cooling rack.

Vanilla Cream Frosting

  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 2 cups icing sugar
  • 4 tbsp whipping cream
  • 1 tsp Wilton butter flavoring
  • 1 tbsp white corn syrup (this helps to set the icing and give it a nice shine)
  • 1 tsp madagascar vanilla (brown vanilla extract)
  • 1 tsp mexican vanilla (white vanilla extract)

Cream together all the ingredients until they are well combined. Frost each donut and then dip into a bunch of cookie crumbs from mini chocolate chip cookies (I got mine from bulk barn).

Hope you enjoyed all three of the holiday donut flavours! And don’t forget to make these donuts to reward the big guy in the red suit for delivering all your gifts.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Carlene

You don’t have to leave these out for Santa – I’d gladly take these off your hands 🙂
