“The Turkey Dinner” Grilled Cheese

November 24, 2012 by bsinthekitchen

Here we go with another grilled cheese! This recipe was actually the sandwich I was originally going to do for our CTV Morning Live cooking segment before they suggested a game day theme! No problems switching things up on our end, it just means extra blog posts! Since we were going to do holiday inspired recipes, this is what I created. Not only does it get you ready for Christmas, it gives all our American followers more leftover ideas!

“The Turkey Dinner” Grilled Cheese

  • 2 Slices of French Bread
  • 1-2 Tbsp Cranberry Sauce
  • Shaved Turkey Breast
  • 1-2 Basil Leaves
  • Brie Cheese
  • Salt
  • Butter

In comparison to my last grilled cheese, this one is a piece of cake to assemble! Butter a side of each slice, spread your cranberry sauce on the bottom slice, top with turkey, chop and sprinkle some basil leaves on it and finish with brie! If your brie is quite salty, don’t add salt, but if it isn’t, add salt!

Once your grilled cheese is assembled, fry it in a pan on medium heat until browned on each side and your cheese is melted.

I’m not typically a fan of cranberry and turkey together, but when you throw brie cheese into the mix, it all comes together perfectly! The added basil gave this sandwich a peppery kick (without making it spicy) as well as some added freshness!

Happy leftover Thanksgiving to all those in the U.S.

Enjoy!

Bob

Absolutely fantastic. Great job! I recently realized the wonderfulness of grilling a post-turkey day sandwich. I’m never going back.
