Onion Ring Fried Egg

May 23, 2012 by bsinthekitchen

Along with wanting to make Baked Onion Rings for quite some time, I had a plan to make Onion Ring Fried Eggs. I had initially come across this great looking recipe, but I wanted to take it to the next level, thus the desire to bake onion rings was born! So in case you didn’t have enough motivation to make Baked Onion Rings, this bonus recipe can give you that extra push!

There isn’t much of a recipe to this one, if you’re a real go getter, head over to the Baked Onion Rings recipe and start from scratch, but if you’re feeling a little lazy (I won’t judge) go buy your favourite fast food onion rings! Fried egg and greasy onion rings?! Hello amazing hangover breakfast!!

Once you have your onion rings, get a pan on medium heat with some butter in it. Place your onion rings in the pan and slowly pour the cracked eggs into the center of each onion ring, allowing the bottoms to cook quickly as they hit the pan, forming a seal to keep the rest of your eggs in! Cover your pan and cook until the egg whites have solidified.

That’s all folks! This was such a wonderful way to serve fried eggs, which i’m already a huge fan of (who isn’t??). You get that delicious crispy bottom on the egg, with its runny yolk, breaking and mixing with your crispy fried onion ring! I don’t think there is much else to say, i’m pretty sure you guys can imagine the glory that is this recipe!

Good eating/Happy hangovers!

Bob

What a cute idea! I’m not a huge onion fan but I AM a fan of perfectly round eggs, haha.
