Lately the soon to be winter blues have really been affecting my blogging activity. Mainly due to the fact that I start preparing a meal around 5:30 and it’s dark by the time I start cooking it, leaving me with NO NATURAL LIGHT to take drool inducing pictures with! Fortunately I have found a cure for my winter blues in some beautiful homemade daylight lamps (which I will be posting about shortly). So with my new lighting set-up in place, I felt nothing could hold me back! Perhaps it was this liberation that had me inspired to start throwing some spices together and make an original recipe. So here you have it, a Bobby D original recipe and I can assure you, it actually tasted quite good (though I was worried I was whipping up a disaster). Here it is:
Sweet Mustard Seasoning
Serving Size: 4
- 1 Tbsp mustard powder
- 2 Pinches nutmeg
- 2 Pinches oregano
- ½ Tsp garlic powder
- 1 Tbsp brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp Panko Bread Crumbs
- Salt & Pepper to taste
Just mix all of these spices together, brush the pork chops with some olive oil and rub the spice into each pork chop. Preheat your barbecue on medium heat, and cook the pork chops for about 3-4 minutes on each side. When the pork begins to marble (you can see the juices beading at the top) that’s when you know it’s done. Don’t leave them on much longer or you’ll have dry pork!
Serve with any side you’d like (I sauteed some onions and mushrooms) and enjoy!
