Consider this the prelude to my next recipe (Roasted Garlic, Spinach & Bacon Rangoon). This is actually the first time roasting garlic in the oven (typically I just saute a bit in a pan!), but it will definitely not be my last! It’s super easy, and not only does it give you some great tasting garlic, but you can also make garlic infused oil in the process!
Roasted Garlic
- 1 Clove of Garlic
- 1 Tbsp of Olive Oil
- Salt & Pepper
The process is quite simple. First, set your oven to 400°F, allowing it to preheat while you are preparing your garlic. Start by chopping the top off each head of garlic.
Next, roll out some tinfoil, fold it into a square, still large enough to wrap around your garlic. Place the garlic in the center of the tinfoil, and form the tinfoil around it, making a bowl. Once you have formed your container around the garlic, pour in a tablespoon of olive oil, as well as some salt & pepper (if you want to make garlic infused oil, feel free to add more, and strain it into a container after!).
After you have all your ingredients in the tinfoil, twist up the top, place in a dish and it’s good to go!
Once your oven has preheated, place the the garlic in the oven, and cook for about 30 minutes. The time will vary depending on the size of your garlic, the ones I used were quite small, so it will likely take a little more time the larger your head of garlic is.
When your garlic is finished, scrape off the skin and any burnt bits, drain the oil and enjoy!

What would you do with these, just eat them straight?

You could, or spread it on toast, use it in a garlic butter, sauces, on meat, or in the recipe I will be posting after this one!
