Why is it that everyone always seems to be hunting for that perfect ooey, gooey, chewy chocolate chip cookie recipe? Maybe because the Chocolate Chip is a cookie classic, maybe because it encases a bit of sweet with a touch of salty, either way, we can all almost guarantee that Chocolate Chip Cookies are not going away. I hunted down this recipe and decided to give it a shot. Thanks to Canadian Chef & total hottie, Michael Smith, for this recipe.
- 3 cups flour
- 2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup room temperature butter
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons corn syrup
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 3/4 cups chocolate chips
Start by preheating your oven to 375ºF. In a large mixing bowl, whip together your butter and sugar until it becomes light and fluffy. Add the corn syrup, then your eggs (one at a time) and finally the vanilla extra. Whip until completely smooth. Add in your dry ingredients until completely well combined.
Scoop out cookies using a cookie scoop, place on cookie sheet that has been lined with parchment paper. Place in the office for exactly 12 minutes, take out and let cool on cookie sheet for two minutes then allow to cool the remanding amount on a cooling rack. The recipe yields about 24-30 cookies – time to make friends people!
Once cool, serve with a glass of milk and let your worries drift away while enjoying this cookie classic,

Bob, what do you think of that one from the B***in Kitchen? At first I rolled my eyes, but now I think that show’s fabulous.

She’s a looker! Very eccentric. I wasn’t sold on the show at first, but it’s actually pretty entertaining. She has tweeted quite a few of our recipes as well, so it’s hard not to like her!

Chuck Hughes. Richardo. Oh baby!

Your cookies look amazing. Michael Smith? Not so much… 😉

hahaha we (and by we I mean Carlene lol) think he’s got an Adian-esque (from Sex & the City) vibe to him. Delish!

Good thing Carlene is making things clear here! While i’m a big fan of Michael Smith’s cooking, I’m more interested in the female variety! Giada De Laurentiis, Rachael Ray, Cat Cora (though i’m not her type!) are all good in my books!

These look delish 🙂 homemade chocolate chip cookies are always the best. Have you ever tried browning the butter first? The results are fantastic, and make for a very tasty dough for scooping out and nibbling on while you bake the rest!
bsinthekitchen
oh my gosh NO! How do you brown the butter?
