“Just a Banana” Ice Cream

December 14, 2010 by bsinthekitchen

It’s been a while folks, my apologies. In my quest for blogworthy recipes, I remembered something I have been meaning to blog for quite some time now, one ingredient ice cream.

This recipe is almost like an anti-recipe, it is ice cream with only one ingredient, which I will unveil below!

“Just a Banana” Ice Cream

  • 1 Frozen banana

There you have it…one banana! This recipe is great when you have bananas that are starting to go brown or you just have a hankering for ice cream, but want a healthier alternative.

Directions

Put your brown bananas in the freezer, so you have some when you want to make the “ice cream”. If you want to save a little work, I would suggest peeling and slicing the banana, putting it in a Ziploc bag and then freezing it.

Once you have your banana peeled and chopped, put it in a food processor, blending until you get an ice cream like consistency.

Once your banana looks something like this, plop it in a bowl and enjoy this wonderful guilt free ice cream!

I haven’t experimented with adding flavours yet, but i’m sure it would be great adding ingredients like vanilla, nutella, peanut butter, honey etc. So try this for yourself and let your imagination run wild!

Bon Appetit!

Bob
