Our Walmart here is Saskatoon recently got converted into a Super-Walmart and long behold they had kale! Before making these chips, I never tried Kale, but I can let you know that I will be buying it again soon. These kale chips are a great way to pack in some crunch of potato chips, but load up on some great vitamins that the kale has like beta carotene, vitamin K, vitamin C, lutein, zeaxanthin, and reasonably rich in calcium and even has anti-cancer agents. I know, you’re sold on the recipes already! So let’s get to it (in steps this time):
- Wash the kale in cold water
- Completely (this is VERY important to getting crispy chips) dry the kale using a towel and/or salad spinner.
- Really make sure that kale is dry – don’t tell me I didn’t warn you
- Pre-heat oven to 350°F
- Cut/rip kale into bite size pieces
- In a large bowl, gently toss the kale in 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil
- Line a cookie sheet in parchment paper (you can also buy this at Walmart) and place oiled kale leaves evenly on the cookie sheet
- Lightly sprinkle kale leaves with sea salt – you can also use any other spices you’d like too!
- Put in the oven for approx. 12 minutes or until the kale gets crispy
- Take out & let cool completely and enjoy!! 🙂

Just tried the recipe…so awesome! I actually like the plain chips better than the ones I seasoned 🙂
