One of my favorite foods has to be fish – whether that’s because of my father’s fishing accomplishments or just because it tastes awesome – I just love it! Salmon and walleye are my two favorite fish to eat. On a recent trip to Costco, I convinced my mom to buy a fresh salmon steak so Bob & I could have a cook off. Both were delicious, mine was on the light, fresh tasting side with Bob’s tasting sweet and rich with hidden flavors of candied salmon. To those inexperienced chefs out there in the blog world, don’t fear salmon, it’s relatively hard to screw up and most people love it!

Here’s my recipe for Sea Salt Honey Salmon:

Marinade:

  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1/2 cup natural honey
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp course ground pepper
  • 1 1/2 tsp dehydrated onion flakes
  • 1 1/2 tsp dill
  • zest of 1/2 of lemon
  • 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1 tsp dried parsely
  • You can adjust the spices to your personal taste

Combine the wine, honey and syrup together in a bowl. Mix until completely blended, pour over the salmon flank, sprinkle spices over top and place in fridge for about one hour. Once the salmon has marinated, place in a 420°F oven for approx. 20-25 mins.

Place over rice & bon appetite!

Now go and bug Bob to post his recipe….
