Caramelized Onion & Steak Quesadilla

November 27, 2010 by bsinthekitchen

Hello everybody!

Today we have a great and easy way to use up leftover steak! Here’s what you will need:

Steak Quesadilla

  • ½ of a steak
  • Havarti cheese
  • Thyme
  • Onions
  • Barbecue sauce
  • Butter
  • 1 tortilla (I used tomato flavoured)
  • Garden vegetable cream cheese
  • Tomato based pizza/pasta sauce

Directions:

Get a pan large enough to fit your tortilla on medium heat, add butter and saute the onions. Once the onions become clear, add in your steak slices, along with a pinch of thyme. Cook this for about a minute, add barbecue sauce and mix until coated, once this is done take your steak and onions out of the pan.

Take your tortilla, spread cream cheese on one half and pasta sauce on the other half, add cheese on one side, then your steak and onions and then more cheese! Melt some butter in your pan until it’s sizzling and fold your tortilla in half and cook until golden brown on each side. Then devour!

You can never go wrong with making a simple quesadilla, they are fast and delicious!

Hope you enjoy.

Bob

I have used this recipe as a base and made various quesadillas with different meats and veggies, tweaking it accoring to the ingredients I had in my fridge. Always turns out amazing and I keep the leftovers for lunch. My boyfriend loves it! Thanks for the inspiration and your photos look great 🙂
