Since I am now living on my own and actually have to buy my own groceries, cheap recipes are my new favourite thing and today I have one that is not only cheap, but extremely easy and delicious!
Creamy Mushroom Peppercorn Pork Chops
- 1 Can Campbell’s cream of mushroom soup
- 2-3 cloves garlic
- ½ Large white onion
- Mushrooms
- Peppercorn
- Salt
This recipe is reeeally simple, first take a large Ziploc bag, place two pork chops inside, chop up your onion and garlic, add them into the Ziploc along with the soup, mix everything around and let marinate for 1-24 hours.
Once your pork has marinated, take the chops and cook them in a pan on medium-high heat until cooked through (time will depend on how thick your pork chops are – if they are quite large, cook them around medium heat so they cook all the way through). In a separate pan or pot, pour your sauce and cook on medium-high heat until it reduces by about half, or reaches a desired thickness. As your sauce is reducing add as many mushrooms as you’d like, some more onions as well as some fresh peppercorn.
Once everything is done cooking, pour a little sauce on your plate, then a porkchop and some more sauce, sprinkle with some green herbs if you like (cilantro in my case) and enjoy a very comforting meal!
