Here we go with another grilled cheese! This recipe was actually the sandwich I was originally going to do for our CTV Morning Live cooking segment before they suggested a game day theme! No problems switching things up on our end, it just means extra blog posts! Since we were going to do holiday inspired recipes, this is what I created. Not only does it get you ready for Christmas, it gives all our American followers more leftover ideas!

The Beer Buddy Cupcake as featured on CTV Morning Live Saskatoon
If you’ve been following our Facebook Page, you might know that we’ve been asked by CTV Morning Live Saskatoon (a local news station in our city) to come on air to do a cooking segment. When Bob & I got the news we were pretty excited and started racking our brains for what we could make under their requested theme of “Grey Cup Party”. We knew we should stick to our classics with Bob covering the grilled cheese front and myself, tackling the cupcakes. But my brain had a bit of a “food block” – how can you make a cupcake appropriate for a football party?? Now here was my thought pattern: football…party…manly men yelling at a TV…beer….pretzels...okay, now let’s combine them into something sweet, salty and decadent: The Beer Buddy Cupcake – a beer infused chocolate cupcake topped with a Salted Caramel Buttercream and garnished with pretzels. Voila! Game day appropriate cupcakes! Now let’s get to the recipe…

The Loaded Nacho “Game Day” Grilled Cheese
Initially, when asked to do a cooking segment on CTV Morning Live we were going to do something holiday inspired (those recipes will be coming in the near future!). But when they mentioned doing something Grey Cup inspired, I thought PERFECT I can make an epic grilled cheese inspired by one of the many game day appies people love! Well what goes hand in hand with cheese other than a grilled cheese? Nachos of course! So I present the Doritos encrusted Loaded Nacho “Game Day” Grilled Cheese! It’s a wild one so get ready!

Dark Chocolate & Cranberry Stuffed French Toast
It has been quite the weekend for food blogging! In an effort to prepare for BS’ in the Kitchen’s first TV appearance (CTV Morning Live Saskatoon – we’re on air shortly after 8:30AM Friday, November 23rd so tune in if you’re local!), Carlene and I have been brainstorming a number of holiday inspired recipes, this being one of them! We picked up plenty of groceries including turkey, egg nog, and cranberry sauce, so you can except a few more recipes in the coming week! This was probably the least holiday inspired recipes (just the cranberry), but it was EXCELLENT! A great blend of tart and sour cranberry sauce, bitter dark chocolate, mild cream cheese smushed between french toast! I hope you’re drooling.

“The Margherita” Pizza Grilled Cheese
Now I know some of you guys(/girls) will disagree with me here, but often times I feel the need to expand my cooking/blogging repertoire by focusing on more non-sandwich dishes. Of course the pull of the almighty sandwich is a strong one, and soon enough, I find myself relapsing with yet another grilled cheese recipe on my hands. Fortunately, my Grilled Cheese support group (a.k.a our faithful readers!), make me realize there is no shame in creating one more grilled cheese!

Soft Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies
I have something to admit, last winter I tried making sugar cookies and failed miserably. I’m not talking “just didn’t turn out”, I’m talking “wouldn’t hold a shape, crumbled everywhere and generally tasted like crap”. After that little experience, sugar cookies have made me a bit nervous. Almost egg white nervous….yes, it really was that bad. But what better way to get over your fears then to jump right back in the saddle! I found this recipe online, added my own twists to it then took it for a test drive, and am I ever happy I did! This is now my staple sugar cookie recipe – the cookies are light, soft, fluffy, easy to roll & cut with cookie cutters and have great flavour. I’ve already made them a few times (in the shapes of little walleye fish, semi-trucks, ghosts and even some glittery pumpkins) and they are a hit with the crowds too! In true BS fashion, let’s get to the recipe….
Pepperoni Stuffed Mozzarella Sticks
After making “The Canadian”, I had an abundance of pepperoni and mozzarella cheese leftover. In my efforts to use the rest of it, I had a stroke of genius, creating Pepperoni Stuffed Mozzarella Sticks! Having never made homemade mozzarella sticks, I thought stuffing pepperoni in them might not be the smartest move, but screw it! I did it anyways! While the process of making them was a little tedious, the end result was delicious! Here’s how it went down!

Hearty Beet Soup
Roughly a week ago my good friend (and uber-ultra-superbly talented photographer), Lauren made this soup during one of our little editing date nights and I just LOVED it! It was light, hearty and full of flavour. I knew I’d have to recreate it. Luckily for me, I already had all of the simple ingredients in my fridge. Let’s get to this great and easy soup!…
“The Canadian” Pizza Grilled Cheese
I’ve been feeling guilty lately.
Guilty because it has been A LOOONG time since i’ve gone to the gym (which I used to do regularly), and guilty because my blogging output has been pitiful the last couple months.
With big intentions to go to the gym today, I got home from work to find this delicious looking focaccia bread on my counter. This is where my resolutions fail me.
Food blogger guilt takes over.

The B.A.T (Bacon, Asparagus & Tomato) Sandwich
They say necessity is the mother of invention. How did necessity invent this sandwich you ask? Well one day after work, with bacon in my fridge and sandwiches on my mind, I was finding a BLT VERY necessary. Now here comes the gut wrenching twist…
I had no lettuce.
