Stay tuned for a Cold Roll recipe this evening!
A good friend of mine from high school, Brittany, annually hosts a Ladies Martini Night where all of our high school girl friends (plus a few new friends too!) get together for some great food, girlie drinks (featuring martinis and beertinis this year), a sprinkling of gossip, a dash of catching up and a large scoop of laughter! This year also featured a great game of Catch Phrase!

If any novice BS’ers are out there, please continue reading this post. This may be one of the easiest recipes we’ve posted that will give you the most bang for your buck in terms of taste, presentation and just general awesomeness: Award Winning Bread Sticks. Guaranteed, these garlicy, cheesy, savory items will not only fill your belly but make it sing.

Crepes are one of my favorite breakfast fancy foods. For the most part, it’s an easy recipe to make and the toppings can easily be changed around to alter the look and taste of the crepes. For this recipe, I use our family’s oldest (yet, probably the best) cookbook: Betty Crocker’s Cookbook. To give you a sense of old this gem really is, my dad got it from my grandma as a bachelor/moving away from home present. Yeah, we’re talking dinosaurs years here people ;).

I was recently recommended David’s Tea by a friend from work and to quickly summarize, I’m very happy I took her recommendation!
David’s Tea, a Canadian company (thumbs up!), is only about two years old, but seems to be quickly expanding across Canada. I got the chance to visit a David’s Tea store on a recent trip to Edmonton and I wasn’t disspointed one bit! Upon entering the store, I was quickly greeted by a staff member who gave me the low-down:

Two friends from the University of Alberta recently moved to Saskatoon to take their Masters of Professional Accounting program. As a welcoming gift, I decided to make them their first meal in Saskatoon. I wanted something that was easy to make (so they could remake it), but will also satisfy their manly hunger – well for one at least, the other one I was warned just likes rice & chicken ;). On the hunt for a recipe that would meet those needs, I thought how great would mini focaccia bread pizzas be?! I ended up using this great recipe from the Bare Foot Kitchen Witch for her Summer Focaccia. Just make sure to take some time to make the focaccia, as it takes a while.

Here is another appetizer I made for a potluck a while back, as with many things on this cooking blog, it was also the first time I have tried making stuffed mushroom caps. They are very easy and very delish!

So I have to quickly rant about the cooking blog world… traditionally the blog world is excellent, if not amazing for having award winning, lip smacking, belly filling recipes for everything under the sun, however, there seems to be one common area missing: Unique, Fun & Easy Camping Recipes…..
So stay tuned BS’ers… I’m hoping to find some great recipes to share with the blog world! In the mean time, anyone have any great camping recipes?
The one whose one with nature,
Carlene
Turns out the blog has been a hit that we now have impostors…
Recently two of Carlene’s friends, Brett & Shawn went to Chitek Lake for a little fishing trip & decided to have a fish fry. Their new name? BS’In The Boat….
Take a look at their pictures & comment on whether you think they are copying BS’ In the Kitchen….And maybe if we’re really lucky they’ll share their fish fry recipe 🙂

Due to the large amounts of rain we are receiving in Saskatoon I was able to take the day off from work and felt that I needed to make something cooking blog worthy for lunch since I had the time. I hadn’t made a grilled wrap for quite some time but there were plenty of good leftovers in the fridge that would work well in a grilled wrap, so it was the perfect opportunity.
