This quick recipe came about as I was trying to make lunch for work, but had ran out of meat to make a sandwich, so I had to improvise something else! While my fridge was looking quite empty, I did have hard boiled eggs, so egg salad was a go! In an effort to make this egg salad a little more interesting and blog worthy, I decided to add in some roasted jalapeno peppers which also happened to be in my fridge (from a failed Roasted Jalapeno Bacon & Brie Grilled Cheese – sounds like it could do no wrong but unfortunately didn’t taste as good as I was hoping 🙁 ). Fortunately these added jalapenos gave the egg salad a really nice extra kick of flavour and some heat too!

Homemade Cheddar Onion Chive Everything Bagels
Ever since visiting Montreal a few years ago, I’ve always been tempted to try my hand at making bagels from scratch. However, I always thought they were too hard – you know one of the mystery type of breads. After a colleague made them at work, I decided I need to suck it up, get over my fear and just try making homemade bagels. Well, I was pleasantly surprised with how easy & delicious these little suckers are. In true BS fashion, let’s get right to the good stuff….
The Best Cinnamon Bun Recipe
Since Bob and I have had the blog, I’ve made these cinnamon buns a few times, but just never took photos. Largely due to the fact that they are incredibly time consuming and by the end you either a) just want to sleep or b) want to eat them all! But there is one thing I can guarantee with these cinnamon buns: This will become your favourite recipe for cinnamon buns! Speaking of time, let’s not waist anymore and get cracking on the recipe.Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cupcakes
One of my good, long-term friends recently celebrated his 26th birthday so I decided that I should make him some special cupcakes. While he originally requested Mancakes, I had just made them so I wanted to make something a bit different. So with a recent suggestion from another friend, we decided that Cinnamon Toast Crunch cupcakes would be equally as awesome! Let me tell you – these little babies are packed FULL of flavour and actually taste like the childhood favourite cereal. So go ahead and make these babies – I double dog dare ya’ too!…
Date Night Dinner Menu | Salmon with a Mustard Dill Sauce and Scalloped Potatoes
It’s hard to believe that another Valentine’s Day (or as I like to call it: Singles Awareness Day) has come and gone. This year, a good friend of mine, Chantal, has her fiance away at Police School so I invited her over so she wouldn’t have to be alone on the day of love and let’s face the facts – I love cooking for people! Even more when they do the dishes after! I wanted to make a meal that was healthy, yet filling, delicious and relatively quick to make. I settled on a Mustard Dill Salmon, Scalloped Potatoes, a Fresh Greens Salad and Pavlova for dessert. This recipe is also a bit different in terms of BS in the Kitchen Recipes, because this is almost a full dinner menu….
Caramelized Onion & Mushroom Brie Grilled Cheese
Well, it’s time for another grilled cheese… Will they ever get old? I DON’T THINK SO! Since I only had one grilled cheese size portion of brie cheese left in my fridge, a vigil of sorts was necessary. To treat this last portion of cheese with the respect it deserves, a special grilled cheese was in order, one which ingredients would love to be draped in gooey brie. So without further ado I present to you the Caramelized Onion & Mushroom Brie Grilled Cheese.

Apple & Brie Stuffed French Toast
If you caught it a couple posts ago, you already know the genesis of this french toast idea, which came to be as I was fork deep in my Peanut Butter & Banana Stuffed French Toast. While many would wait and just make it the next day, there is no stifling french toast innovation in my kitchen! So with a belly full of Peanut Butter & Banana French Toast I went about (sluggishly) creating my second breakfast of the day! (Followed by a food coma and a subsequent trip to the gym!)

Peanut Butter & Banana Stuffed French Toast
I don’t eat peanut butter very often, but when I do, I LOVE peanut butter and banana sandwiches as well as peanut butter and honey sandwiches. So when I saw this recipe on Foodgawker which combined all of that into a FRENCH TOAST I knew it was going down!

Fried Beet Arugula Salad
I made this salad a while back for my mom’s birthday after she had picked up several different ingredients from the farmer’s market and wanted me to construct a dinner for her! Some of those ingredients were beets, parmesan cheese and fresh berries, so I decided to go with a fresh and flavourful beet salad!
